Welcome to the 2011 Tokio Hotel Fandom Big Bang, hosted by Tokio Hotel Fiction! If you've found yourself venturing this far, then that proves that you have at least a slight interest in what the Big Bang is all about. The good news is, you can turn back at any time! The bad news - you'll be missing out on a lot of fun, and a lot of incredible writing and art.
What is a Big Bang?
A "Big Bang" is a fan fiction fest that is like an "explosion" of fiction concentrated on a particular fandom, for the purpose of creating lots of new, long stories in all types of genres and storylines so that fandom can have their pick of tons of new fic to read! These new longfics are posted all at once - like a massive celestial event!
This particular Big Bang will be for the Tokio Hotel fandom. The challenge is to write a completely new piece of fan fiction that has at least 15,000 words. It can be any category, any genre, any rating, and have any characters/pairings (as long as it is all within THF guidelines).
This new story will be written over the course of June 1 through September 1. You cannot post any of the story before September 1 comes, and when the time does come, you must post the story all in one go. No waiting for updates - no cliffhangers without immediate satisfaction - no long term fic teasing. Bang!
Writers and Artists Alike?
Yes, the Tokio Hotel Big Bang is a challenge for both fan fiction writers and fan artists. However, it's a partially symbiotic relationship - Please note that every piece of art will have an accompanying story, but not every story will have art. We have many writers, and limited artists. We very much would like the fan artists to be able to participate, though, so we will try our hardest to accomodate everyone's needs. How will this work? At the second writer check-in, we will ask for a title, word count, and summary of your fic. Then, we will anonymously post those in a list, and an artist can pick and choose which story or stories they would like to illustrate. An artist may illustrate for more than one story - but a writer can only submit one story.
What do I do now?
Well, we are at the very beginning. At the moment, only writers can join. Please consider taking on the Big Bang Challenge! Use the Signup Form to join in! Remember, think long and hard about whether or not you want to make the commitment. 15,000 words seems like a lot - but over the course of three months, it's cake!
